This is me working in the living room floor so I could hang out with the boys on movie night. My Studio moves around.
This has been a wonderful experience and learning opportunity for me. My name is Leila Belcher of LeilaBeeDesigns and I have always loved making charm jewelry. During this Challenge I discovered that I love it more than I realized. I love finding unique beads and turning them into lovely, one of a kind charms that can then be added to bracelets or necklaces. We all like to have something unique. I discovered that I could make a cohesive Jewelry Line and still make one of a kind pieces. While all my Jewelry will have the same feel, flow and color scheme,no two will ever be exactly alike.
Please visit my Etsy Shop.for new listings. This line will be posted soon for purchase. Many components of this Line came from my favorite Shop, B’Sue Boutiques and the Sponsor/Teacher/Mentor of this class, Brenda Sue Lansdowne. Be sure to visit. You won’t regret it.
I plan to let the pictures speak for themselves on this blog post. I have created a seasonal nature themed line of jewelry with four pieces in each seasonal collection for a total of 16 pieces in the Nature is the Key to Happiness Line. Each collection includes a long charm necklace with a skeleton key focal and a seasonal focal which was my inspiration for the line, a charm bracelet, a leaf cuff bracelet and leaf themed earrings.. They are as follows:
Winter – Hellebore – Colors of green, wine and cream with flowers and leaves.
Spring – Tulip-with pastel colors of pink, blue, yellow and purple with flowers, bees, butterflies and dragonflies.
Summer – Guillardia (Blanket Flower) with bright cheerful colors of Red, yellow, blue, orange and green with butterflies, dragonflies, bees, flowers, and ladybugs.
Fall – Maple Leaf – with Fall colors of browns, greens and reds with pinecones, acorns, flowers and leaves
I already have expansion ideas for this line and I am very excited about its debut next week at the Master Gardeners Conference in Cullman, Alabama. Price points are as follows:
Charm Necklaces- $70
Charm Bracelets- $35
Cuff Bracelets-$28
Earrings – $15
I have thoroughly enjoyed this Master Class/Contest and have learned more than I ever dreamed possible. May everyone have success with their lines and may all our dreams come true.

Leila, I’m sure that these will be a hit at the Master Gardeners Conference, a perfect venue for your launch. Everything works well together and you have great colors. I especially love that Fall charm bracelet. It’s awesome with that maple leaf, but Leila, I would expect to pay more for all that work! I make similar bracelets for my daughter, who loves LOTS of clicking and clacking on her wrist and I know for a fact that there is a great deal of time involved. Maybe it’s a matter of perspective. You say you love making the charms and I do not have so much patience. anyhow, well done Leila. Good luck at the conference.

Thanks! I have a special tool for making charms that really changed my life. I can make 1 or 2 a minute and usually work on them when I’m watching TV with the kids. So, they aren’t much of a problem. I’ve made buckets for each Season and then putting them together just doesn’t take long. We’ll see how these do. In Alabama, folks just don’t pay much for Jewelry. But, if I start selling well on Etsy I may raise them a bit. But there’s enough profit margin. That was part of my challenge. Becoming more efficient so I could charge prices people could afford!

Now how are your hands from making all these charms I know it’s a lot of work to figure charm bracelets are adorable. And a lot of people like that style where it moves and flows and all the detail you have added to it is great thank you for sharing

I really love making them. I usually sit in the living room with the boys and my beads and go to town. I love charm jewelry so it’s what I really wanted to do. The most charms I’ve made in one sitting were 275 and then my hands were sore from twisting wire. Lol.

Nature is indeed beautiful-and so are your designs! I agree though, your prices need to be higher on etsy than locally. There is a lot of work involved in all that wire work, not to mention the “charm” in your charm bracelets. Best of luck t oyou!

I do increase prices on Etsy. I’m hoping one day I can sell locally for what it’s truly worth. I have relatives in California and they’re appalled at the prices as well. But locally, they’re on the higher side. I’m going to keep searching for my Market and I believe I can find it. My Etsy Shop has started to sell so that may be the answer. Going to work hard on that Shop and get this going!! Thanks so much for your support.

Leila, Your works of art make such a unique statement! I love them all!! I am also glad you had a chance to be with your children while you were doing something you enjoyed. Time with children is not recoverable and is precious. the fact that you have juggled those responsibilities and still were so creative is admirable. We are among a group of remarkable women and I am proud that I am connected with talented people such as yourself.

Leila–Now is see how you used all of those charms you made and showed us as a tease! I love four seasons themes and your line nails it. You used some of the stampings in different surprising ways. Very unique. Your prices do seem low, especially for the big charm necklace, but it sounds like you know your market and are planning accordingly. Great job! Congratulations!

Wow–I was going to say your prices for your charm bracelets and necklaces should be higher but others have already said it and you mentioned your local market! I love your seasonal line with the many colors that can go with anyone’s different outfits, dressy or casual–so wise of you. My all time fave is the silver maple leaf fall set–I never thought of the silver with the fall colors and that is SUPERB!!! What is your special tool you use for dangles? I make a lot of wire wrapped dangles for loaded cha chas and it takes me a loooooong time! :):)
